We believe that your physical telemetry is yours alone. Our policy is simple: we do not sell, share, or analyze your personal metrics for advertising.
1. Data Storage
LogMyWeight operates under a local-first architecture. This means the weight log records, heights, and target configurations you enter are written directly to your browser's IndexedDB (a secure database partition sandboxed on your device). If you use the application solely in local mode, none of your weight entries are transmitted to our servers or any third-party infrastructure.
2. Optional Cloud Synchronization
To facilitate multi-device telemetry and backup, we offer an optional cloud synchronization service powered by Supabase. If you explicitly choose to sign up and configure cloud sync:
- We collect your email address and credentials to manage your authentication securely.
- Your logged weight entries, settings, and milestones are transmitted over TLS and stored securely in our cloud database partition.
- This synchronization is entirely optional. You can disconnect and revert to standalone local mode at any time.
3. Data Retention & Deletion
You retain complete ownership and control of your records:
- Local Data: You can wipe all local storage and IndexedDB instances instantly through your browser settings or directly via the "Clear All Data" action in our Settings modal.
- Cloud Data: If you delete your synchronized account, all associated weight logs are permanently deleted from our databases. We do not keep legacy backups of deleted profiles.
4. Third-Party Services
We do not run advertising networks, remarketing pixels, or third-party web analytics tools that track you across the web. The application remains clean, light, and focused purely on performance.
5. Cookies and Preferences
We use simple local storage keys on your browser to remember UI state preferences, specifically:
logmyweight-theme: Stores your theme preference (dark, light, or system-matching).logmyweight-onboarded: Remembers whether you have completed the initial onboarding walkthrough.
These items are essential to basic application functionality and do not contain personally identifying metrics.
